rains. we do have wind advisories across portions of california, nevada and northern portions of the rockies where we can see wind gusts between 50-70 miles an hour. those conditions are very dangerous, not just the flooding and snow but strong winds. flooding across northern california and southern portions of oregon where we are talking about several inches falling today. we're expecting another storm as we head into tomorrow. we do have basically drier conditions across northern california. that will be the story for monday. next storm on tuesday will be taking more of a northerly track. portions of oregon will begin with the heaviest. northern parts of california and expecting heavy mountain snow. over a foot in some of the higher elevations of sierra. so i do want to bring you to the northeast because we're going to have to deal with some rain showers, nothing like california but heavier downpours in portions of upstate new york. >> gregg: maria, thanks very much. >> heather: holiday cheer in short supply on wall street. this is no ordinary year for stocks. >> gregg: diff

series of storms to sweep through northern california is here. we have live team storm coverage. let's begin with our meteorologist lisa argen who is tracking the storm will live doppler 7 hd. >> good morning, everyone. your eye goes right to the red and this is where it is draped from the sacramento valley back to clear lake and windsor and santa rosa. the back edge has been pushing through ukiah and with it the very gusty winds preceding the gusts. we have wind gusts up to 51 miles an hour at the airport, 38 miles an hour winds from hayward. a little lighter but still at the higher elevations you are seeing 63 miles an hour wind gusts down to about 2,000 feet down in the south bay. here's the north bay. look at the heavy rain from richmond, martinez and berkeley, now pushing into the east bay. and 580 and back westward. 280 in san francisco. not only looking it he rain but gusty winds. lighter rains into fremont and union city and the south bay. this will all continue to increase throughout the day. the first half of the day looking much, much different than the second half. caroly

out west where northern california and parts of oregon are bracing for impact tonight from a third round of heavy storms. many areas have been hard hit by flooding in recent days, and tonight one california county is preparing for what could be a disaster. nbc's miguel almaguer is in the mountain town of truckey, california, along the rising river. >> reporter: good evening. tonight this area is under a state of emergency. the truckee river runs for 121 miles between california and nevada and officials say it is not a question of if but when will this river flood? along the truckee river rising water and concern. tonight the marsico family is hoping to save their home of 50 years. a rock and dirt beam may help keep the water away but today this family is moving out. >> that's important. >> reporter: carolyn has seen her home, this area flood before. >> it's a helpless feeling. there is nothing else you can do. there is nothing. so you just do what you can. >> reporter: with river water that could rise seven and a half feet with tomorrow's oncoming storm, washoe county has already d

's getting steered. right into northern california. it's called the pineapple express. are hawaii to here, round three. we'll get one on sunday. round three, the final round is just about here. after midnight we're all going to get very wet. several inches of rainfall for the north bay. anywhere from 1 to 2.5 inches of rainfall in and around the bay area. future cast, we get new information every hour. an inch and a half for santa cruz. inch and a half for redwood city. nearly two inches more in san rafel. nearly 2 inches of new rainfall by tomorrow evening. with the ground saturated we will see more urban flooding tomorrow than we did friday. less of an impact. still out there tomorrow. moving in tonight, it'll be a soaker. especially tomorrow morning. tomorrow afternoon, got a little bit of a break. actually get a big bit of a break. that's the last round. it'll be out of here by tomorrow afternoon. highs will be mild. might not have a chance to enjoy. it'll be wet as well. averages around 60. mountain view 63. campbell 63 degrees. very wet tomorrow morning. mid60s for pleasant hill. ri

of storms to sweep through northern california is causing trouble everywhere. we have live team storm watch coverage. abc7 news reporter nick smith is live on interstate 580 over the richmond san rafael bridge where an overturned big rig is blocking lanes. cara clapper is live where they are watching the river rise. let's begin with abc7 news meteorologist lisa argen with a live at live doppler 7hd. >> it is flooding in sonoma county. we have a flood warning and it has been flooding in petaluma and willow creek. you can see the back edge of the front. this is where the winds have died off and the rains have ended. still some very heavy rain through novato and southward. and there is also flooding reported in marin county with a flood warning through 10:15 from the creek to the east bay, hercules and vaw knee shaw, 580. flooding in santa cruz, santa clara county. moderate rain in fremont and gusty winds in union city. on the peninsula, a heavy downpour and winds have lightened up here. but still some light rain. the front has yet to move through san francisco. some heavier rain on the penins

at how much we have already had. over a foot of rain in some northern california areas, brandy creek, whispering pines. even parts of oregon 8.77 inches already. we're about to get more. look at the video they were preparing in napa. you can see that the russian river is forecast to crest today. flooding is the first issue. then, winds. reno, nevada, big problems on the roadway. high-profile vehicles traveling get a 70 miles per hour gust, it guz done. some of the mountain passes in the sierras could easily see 100-plus mile-per-hour winds today. the first threat is rain, we're talking about flooding. how much more rain? anywhere from 4 to 8 inches. you can see right here in the red area, reno is involved. redding is in the purple. and this, even though same colors used here, the wind gusts, look at how south, it goes to los angeles, great falls, montana. lot of places not only just talking about that but the snow. and the snow, the snow levels have come down, starting to see a little bit more of that freezing. sun valley, jackson hole and mount baker, all going to get in that foot a

and the next storm moving into northern california and this one is a very strong one. very significant rain will fall here, some areas eight inches of rain and a lot of the rivers in central california concerned about flooding for today and tonight. and this storm storms by tomorrow, and another one comes in on tuesday, wednesday, lingers a little into thursday and then dry things out and this is the most potent of all and mostly rain, another warm system, but a steady stream of tropical moisture and it will bring light showers throughout parts of the ohio valley, to the great lakes, tonight and this afternoon. and behind it, temps are going to warm up a lot. in fact, today, the temps are extremely warm, across most of the country and pretty much the entire country is above where your average temps are this time of year and tomorrow, we'll see this heat builds further, getting to 61, dleefld, and # 66. and usually we're counting the days to christmas and shopping days left. not this year, the countdown to the fiscal cliff, thanks to our leftist leaders. >> usually count down to christmas, b
